#4 – Edge
Edge is known far and wide as the WWE's "Ultimate Opportunist", and a large reason why is his affiliation with the Elimination Chamber match.
In 2005 Edge participated in the third ever Chamber match. He didn't do so well, eliminated a grand total of zero opponents, and losing to Chris Jericho. But in 2006 at the January New Year's Revolution PPV, Edge waited patiently until after John Cena had defended the WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber. He then cashed in Money in the Bank for the first time, beat Cena and started his legacy as the "Rated-R Superstar". While he didn't win the Chamber match, or even participate in it, the structure played a huge role in his becoming a world champion for the first time.
Don't worry, Edge has plenty of actual Elimination Chamber moments to consider. In 2009 he put the WWE Championship on the line and, in the biggest shock in the match's history, Jeff Hardy eliminated Edge in three minutes, guaranteeing a new champion. However, ever the opportunist, Edge attacked Kofi Kingston later in the night, stealing his pod in the Chamber match, pinning both John Cena and Rey Mysterio to become World Heavyweight Champion. In this way, Edge became the only Superstar in history to wrestle two Chamber matches in the same night, losing and winning a world title within three hours.
But wait – there's more! In 2011, Edge pinned both Rey Mysterio and Kane to successfully defend the World Heavyweight Championship. That would be one of his last matches ever, as he went on to defend the title at WrestleMania against Alberto del Rio, and announced his retirement the next night on Monday Night Raw.
If you're keeping track at home, that's four Chamber matches, four eliminations, two title defenses, and two title wins. Not bad.
