WWE Facing Problems With How To End WrestleMania 30

wrestlemania 30Every Monday and Friday I write a wrestling column for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. It can be found online at TribLIVE.com.

Today, I wrote about the potential problems WWE could be facing with how WrestleMania 30 could end and provided some solutions.

The following is an excerpt:

WWE is celebrating 30 years of WrestleMania in less than two months, and I'm curious as to how they will tie the ribbon on this monumental night.

Starting and ending wrestling shows are crucial. So how will this event end?

WrestleMania represents the culmination of stories. It marks the end of a year on WWE's calendar, and the next night is like New Year's Day. The philosophy for WrestleMania has always been to send the fans home happy. As I try to project the card, I have my worries of how that's going to be accomplished.

Don't get me wrong: I think there will be some good matches with interesting stories. I'm only one man, while the gathering of 80,000 of WWE's most diehard fans from around the world can be a little tougher to please.

The WWE world title match is the first option that comes to mind. More often than not, the title match is the closer to WrestleMania and most other pay-per-views.

It's been rumored it will feature champion Randy Orton against Batista, the Royal Rumble winner. If this happens, I will be looking forward to it like I'm looking forward to seeing a crash in NASCAR.

If WWE or Orton thought the Pittsburgh fans hijacked the title match at Royal Rumble — look out for this one.

The entire match will have the fans as the biggest stars. They'll chant for Daniel Bryan, they'll chant for the announcers, they'll do the wave, and they'll do the Fandango dance. Everything that can be done to tell WWE brass on the other side of the curtain they don't like this match, they'll do it.

The only option for WWE would be to insert Daniel Bryan in the match. Bryan would be the babyface that keeps the attention and hope up of the WWE universe. The trouble with this is it would allow WWE to get the match off, but when Bryan doesn't win, perhaps the scene emanates a negative tone.

The way I see it, there are two options for ending WrestleMania 30, neither of which involves the title match if it's going to feature Batista versus Orton. We'll know for sure soon with the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view this weekend.
