Matt Hardy – One Step Down
First of all, we don't know all the details. I won't speculate. I don't have to either. It's unfortunate that celebrities don't have the luxury of hiding their New Year's Eve transgressions like the rest of us, but that's the world we live in.
Matt and Reby beating the hell out of each other in a hotel room is embarrassing, and no amount of silence, or linking to your beautiful engagement video can change that.
By all accounts, Matt Hardy has been making serious progress in turning his life around. Then, this happens. It's like credit: it takes months and years to build up a positive score, but one missed payment and you drop 30 points. This would be the equivalent of a foreclosure on Matt's credit.
I'm not one to judge. I've been drunk before. I've made poor choices. I was never compared to Chris Brown as a result of those choices, but then again, I've never hit a woman and I'm not a celebrity.
This was, without a question, a setback for Matt, but if his intentions to change are genuine, it won't be much of one. Chalk it up as a VERY big, yet contained mistake, and continue the same path.
My gut tells me Matt can and will do just that. "This too shall pass," they say.
