The Main Events
The Wyatt Family defeated Cody Rhodes and Goldust. The match started with Rowan and Goldust. It gets to the point where Harper and Goldust exchange blows into the corner. Goldust gets beaten down with multiple head butts from Rowan. Goldust was targeted as a weak link throughout the entire match. Rowan just tosses Goldust across the ring. Instead of a hot tag, Goldust is able to hit Cross Rhodes onto Harper. After a few minutes of action, Goldust finally gets to his brother. Cody hits a high knee and strikes Harper in the face. He hits a missle drop kick from the top rope. Cody hits Disaster Kick onto Harper and heads to the top. Rhodes nails an absolutely beautiful moonsault, only for Rowan to break up the pin. The brother knock Rowan to the outside. Cody flies to the top and Goldust sends Harper. This incredible action continues until Harper finally hits Rhodes with a clothesline. The Wyatt Family picks up the victory. I loved this match because it was so fluent and the dramatic pauses in the match really kept me on my feet. The champs suffer a loss and I can easily see new champions at Royal Rumble.
WWE continues the feud with Bryan and Wyatts. He cleans the ring of them and stands tall. Later in the night, the Wyatt Family attacks Bryan. This makes The Shield vs. John Cena and CM Punk. Bryan is scratched from the main event of the night.
Grade: A-
John Cena and CM Punk defeated The Shield. Smackdown ends on a great note. CM Punk and John Cena work well together because they are so different. Cena takes the bulk of the punishment. As the match continues, Punk gets a hot tag and cleans the ring. He hits his patented dive to the outside, a running knee and a flying elbow onto Rollins. He is about to set him up for a GTS, but Ambrose gets in the ring. Punk hits both men with a DDT. Reigns gets into the ring and they all beat down Punk. All three men stomp mud holes into Punk until John Cena throws Roman Reigns to the outside. Cena and Ambrose fight back and forth. Roman Reigns gets back into the ring and spears John Cena. The numbers game takes over and CM Punk is sent to the outside. Triple Powerbomb onto Cena and Punk ends the night for the faces. That is until Big E Langston comes out to help them. Reigns and Langston face one another. Reigns leaves and The Shield retreats. Excellent match and great finish to a Smackdown that built storylines from the top, while the bottom card was left unfulfilled.
