RANDY ORTON vs. THE BIG SHOW
So reports come out that SummerSlam didn't sell very well and they blame Orton-Bryan for not being a big enough spectacle. So their solution is to put Big Show in the main event? I get it – he's huge. He's been huge for a long time. Show was world champion last year at Survivor Series, and how did that pay-per-view draw?
WHAT WILL HAPPEN
Killam: I'm sure there's going to be some sort of outside interference. You know how we know? They told us there wouldn't be any outside interference. Randy Orton retains.
Bamber: Orton and Big Show wrestle a match that's good but absolutely no better, Big Show will shout a lot, Orton will leak baby oil like osmosis. Kane and Triple H come out, causing the distraction that enables Orton to hit the RKO from “out of nowhere” to retain. Big Show gets angry on the Raw following, and demands Triple H's head on a platter (like Daniel Bryan, he'll conveniently forget he still deserves a rematch). Instead, we'll get Big Show vs Kane at TLC.
WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN
Killam: I honestly….I've got nothing here. Randy Orton should retain. But that's about as far as I'll go. I haven't been so disinterested in a WWE Championship story for quite a long time, and that's a real shame, because Orton is pulling off some of the best work of his career. I'm a big Randy Orton fan. I'm a big Triple H fan. The two together have made magic on more than one occasion, and like fine wine, get better with age in my opinion. But this story sucks. What is Kane doing, besides standing around and making 10-second appearances on Raw? Are Triple H and Stephanie heels? Do we care?
Bamber: That time machine we used to get to Miz's face turn in January, can we stop this heel authority figure story from happening too? In the situation, I like to think Orton might go over clean (he needs it) but it's hard to imagine given the possibilities of new feuds going forward almost require a soft finish here.
