WWE SmackdownThe Undercard

Wyatt Family defeated The Miz and Kofi Kingston. Rowan and Harper get the call against two guys who have had issues with Bray Wyatt over the past month. Harper hits a huge clothesline to pick up the win in a very basic match. I am confused with what WWE is doing with The Miz. They use him as a pawn in the game with Randy Orton, even going as far as involving his family. Why does Miz suddenly get thrown into a feud with Bray? Where is the connection there? Nonetheless, I can say Harper and Rowan continue to improve and getting matches with sound wrestlers like Kofi and Miz are a vote of confidence from the officials backstage.

Brie Bella defeated AJ Lee in a sloppy match. The Brie Buster, bascially a weak X-Factor was the final move to put away Lee. The bigger story was Tamina and Nikki on the outside. They had a distraction which gave Brie the opportunity to pick up the win. Is this all we can get with a Divas feud right now? There are far better wrestlers out there that can put a good match on with AJ Lee. I am sick of seeing the repetition each week in this division.

CM Punk defeated Big E Langston in a solid ten minute match. Punk was trying to overcome the strength of Langston. It seemed like Big E would hit a big clothesline or powerslam. Punk hit a big knee to Langston but he reversed the bulldog that would follow. Punk hits a suicide dive and a crossbody. After an elbow drop, Punk sets up a GTS. Langston counters, tries to hit Big Ending, but Punk hits a GTS for the win.

After the match, Punk gets attacked by Axel and Ryback. Langston gets in the ring and helps out Punk. He clotheslines Axel and Punk clears the ring of Ryback. I like this face turn because they have NOBODY else to help Punk. He is a guy that continues to get beaten down every single week. Hopefully this helps the overall progression of a guy with so much talent in Langston. Is it too soon though? That is my biggest concern.

Grade: B

The Uso's defeated The Real Americans in a short tag team match. Maybe, just maybe, WWE is trying to build more than one tag team? Swagger and Cesaro win for multiple weeks, lose to Jimmy and Jey, and then will win again? Mark Madden said it best, everyone ends up .500 at the end of the year.
