WWE RawThe Undercard

Randy Orton defeated The Miz in the opening match of WWE Raw. After Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton exchange some heated words between one another, both men tried to hit their finisher. Orton was able to escape and an aggressive Miz came out to attack Orton before their match. We get back from a commercial break and both men are exchanging blows. Orton counters a Skull Crushing Finale but Orton escapes it. Miz has Orton on the mat and the lights go out. Wyatt Family appears to distract Miz, so Orton hits an RKO for the win. This is a good way to find Miz something fresh and interesting to work with. Bray Wyatt continues to find new faces to fight. This can benefit Wyatt until Kane comes back and reignites that feud. Miz, on the other hand, can hopefully continue to improve as a face. He is a born heel and should have never changed that.

Fandango defeated Santino Marella with a roll-up. Does anyone care that Santino is back from injury? Good for him to overcome an injury but he provides nothing in the ring right now. Fandango needs something to do before people COMPLETELY stop caring about him.

Grade: D

Los Matadores defeated 3MB for the third consecutive week. The double inverted Samoan Drop was pretty impressive looking. Again, nobody is caring about these talented guys. The gimmick is very 1990-ish and people have gotten to a point where cheesy gimmicks do not work.

Grade: D

Real Americans defeated Tons of Funk. I was very impressed with the booking of this match. It was not your usual 3-4 moves and then a finish. They gave it time to develop inside the ring and had Cesaro shine once again. He hit his Neutralizer for the victory and the giant swing on Tensai after the match. I think WWE is beginning to realize that the tag team of Swagger and Cesaro has potential. They just need to tap into that potential and give it the support it needs to thrive.

Grade: B-

Tamina Snuka defeated Brie Bella with AJ Lee in the corner of Snuka. There was nothing too amazing here. Snuka looked a little stiff in the ring. It has been a while since her last match on Raw. Also, I expected Brie to win. What is the point to have her lose to someone who is not the champion? Maybe they need Brie Bella to lose here and then find another challenger to Lee. Brie can be utilized much better as a piece in the Orton/Bryan storyline.
