WWE Night of Champions

Title This: WWE Night of Champions Reaction

Curtis Axel defeated Kofi Kingston in an unannounced Intercontinental Championship Match. First off, I was not a fan of how Night of Champions started. This immediately felt like a WWE Raw instead of a somewhat important Pay Per View. Triple H books Axel in a match and turns out it is Kingston. Aside from the lack of storyline and the lack of interest, both men put on an entertaining bout that featured great chemistry. I really think that Axel has great matches. I am not sure what he is missing right now. Kingston, on the other hand, is always going to be a mid card guy that will put on great matches. Is Kingston a guy who can get better? Is he one who can improve his storytelling outside of the ring? He has not proven himself either way. People need to realize that WWE needs guys like Kingston and not everyone HAS to be a main eventer. Enjoy the match for what it was and know that this is what you will always get from him.

AJ Lee defeated Naomi, Natalya, and Brie Bella to keep her Divas Championship. THANK GOD. If WWE took the belt off of AJ, it would have been a huge mistake. She is all that this division has right now. I will point out a few things from this match. Naomi looks wonderful when she is not dancing around in sparkles and looking like a bimbo. Brie Bella is quick and scrappy, which speaks volumes on how far she has come. Natalya is OVERRATED. I do not want to bury her, but it seems like she always misses a spot in the ring. Are we so consumed with the fact that she is a member of the “Hart Family” and gets a free pass? No. We should want her to get better and better, not rely on what she learned a decade ago. Overall, we saw an average match with an outcome that was best for the division.

The Miz defeated Fandango. Let’s hope this feud does not keep going. Fandango is extremely athletic and can actually wrestle. The Miz is much better suited as a heel. His style inside the ring adapts easier to be booed rather than be cheered. Every time he locks in a Figure Four, I can picture Ric Flair running around like a chicken with his head cut off. He needs to do his own thing and not use a move that will NEVER be better than the original. Where do both guys go from here? My advice: Fandango turns face and tries to go after a mid card title, while The Miz needs to be in the World Heavyweight Championship picture. He is not good enough for the WWE Championship right now but can boost a title and give it more importance. I mean, come on, this guy main evented WrestleMania 27 and beat John Cena! Give us this match on Raw, not at Night of Champions.
