The Chase for the World Heavyweight Championship
Everybody knows that Alberto Del Rio is a fantastic wrestler with a mean streak in him. Everybody has seen how good Christian is in the ring and both guys showed these qualities at SummerSlam. This match lacked intrigue and meaning because they did not invest enough time into creating a compelling story line. With Alberto Del Rio winning at SummerSlam, this tells you that WWE thinks his Latino connection is to important to the overall business of the company. I was one person who really wanted RVD to be added to their match at SummerSlam. It seems like I was just one day off, as RVD aligns himself with Ricardo Rodriguez. This is an extremely random pairing because neither guy has anything in common besides smoking marijuana. I have really cooled off on Ricardo as a manager because his personality and charisma over shines the wrestler. RVD is established and will not be outshined by him but it still makes for an awkward pairing. At the end of the day, it seems like Christian and RVD will still be used in chasing for the World Heavyweight Championship. All you need to know is that this feud is just temporary until WWE decides to pull the trigger on Sandow’s cash in. My prediction: RVD becomes World Champion, holds it for a few months, and Sandow cashes in on one of WWE’s fan favorites. THAT will give him instant heat and make him that much more important.
