Isenberg and Killam Predict WWE SummerSlam: What Should and Will Happen

Total Divas

Natalya vs. Brie Bella

Believe it or not, for an event that more often than not depicts Divas in bikinis, joyously riding jet skis as Shawn Michaels cooks up some summer eats on the BBQ, SummerSlam very rarely features women’s wrestling. Less than 40% of all SummerSlam pay-per-views have had women in action; several were mixed tag matches. The Diva’s/Women’s Championships have only been defended five times; one of them was Melina vs. Alicia Fox (Cameron had an orgasm over it). Useless, but interesting statistics.

Isenberg: Since they are in a tag team match at Axcess, I hope to God this means that this will get bumped from the show. It probably won’t, so I predict about a five minute match with all pieces of Total Divas getting involved somehow. Does it matter who wins? No. Should Natalya win and actually chase the Divas Championship? Yes.

Killam: Is anybody else really confused by what the hell is going on with this match? The latest news I heard is that Maria Menounos will now be featured in a tag team match at SummerSlam Axxess, not on the actual pay-per-view. What kind of sense does that make? I legitimately think WWE was scared away from using her in any major capacity after the fans in NY/NJ booed her at the Hall of Fame. This whole match is promotion for Total Divas, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But there’s also very little to get interested in, as the rivalry has only had about two minutes of actual screen time on real WWE television (Raw or Smackdown). I’d like to see Natalya go over, and drop the Khali gimmick now that her real relationship is being played out on reality television.
