Wrestlezone’s Top 10: Summerslam Matches

Number 3: Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam 1991

Curtis Axel

Curtis Axel may not be on the SummerSlam card this year, but his father will go down in history in one of the best matches the event has ever seen. Nobody would be surprised to watch a match with such technical genius when the names of Hennig and Hart are connected to it. It was one match in the history of Bret Hart that would change his career forever. Many people point to this match as being the one that solidified his career as a single’s star. Hart and Perfect were flawless in the ring on this night in Madison Square Garden. Just under 20 minutes was enough to tell an epic story. I find it humorous that it was the SECOND match of the night, but by far the longest. Hart would just begin his incredible run as “Mr.Summerslam.”
