Stars in Progress: RyWho?, Total Divas, The Total Package

Lex Luger – One Step Up

I recommend everyone go out of their way to pick up a copy of Lex Luger’s new book, Wrestling with the Devil: The True Story of a World Champion Professional Wrestler – His Reign, Ruin, and Redemption.

Mike Killam should have a full, exclusive review coming soon to WZ. There’s supposed to be some contests and giveaways too, I believe, so look out for those.

I’ll again be interviewing Lex for this site in the near future, and I’m personally excited about it. I can only hope it’s half as successful as my first public meeting with he “Total Package.

Most of you probably won’t remember, but I interviewed Lex Luger (a three-part series) back in 2005. It was two years after the untimely death of Miss Elizabeth and, to my knowledge, it was his first interview as well.

He was quiet immediately after her passing out of respect for her family, but he finally bared it all in the most emotional interview I’ve ever witnessed, much less been a part of. I don’t have the audio any longer, but I found this written recap if you’d like to take a look.

That interview, still today, is the most downloaded and listened-to interview I’ve ever hosted.

I have a deep, incredible respect for Lex Luger. Not because I have a personal history with him, but because I truly believe he has found a source of great inner-peace, despite having every reason to hate life, be bitter, or say “screw it” to it all.

From what I can tell, although Lex is no longer the “Total Package” physically, he’s stronger than he’s ever been. I envy him for that.
