Why John Cena Turning Heel Is Now A Possibility

John Cena ever turning heel is the most common and entertaining topic among hardcore wrestling fans in this era. It falls right behind the Macho Man Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth myths and stories.

We keep hearing of talks about a big storyline and payoff for the McMahon family being back on television and a certain power struggle going on.

Every Monday and Friday I have a wrestling column for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. For today's—why we NOW can have a serious business conversation about Cena turning heel in the future.

Cena being a heel, while shocking and buzzworthy initially, has never been a smart option. He's the top guy and WWE's cash cow. People always talk about how great it would be and compare it to Hulk Hogan's famous heel turn in July 1996 when he joined the New World Order.

Here's the difference: Hogan wasn't the top guy weekly for WCW. He hadn't been on camera for some time. The company was thriving, but it had other options in Macho Man Randy Savage, Sting, Lex Luger and Ric Flair. Plus, there were so many more guys in the process of jumping ship from Vince McMahon's company to WCW.

Cena as a heel can now be considered potentially smart for business because of Daniel Bryan. He changes the WWE's situation.
