The Main Events
Two pieces stuck out in my mind on Smackdown. The Shield cut a promo about still being dominant. Dean Ambrose takes the promo to the next level, talking about beating Christian 99 times out of 100. Ambrose says he will be lurking around when he holds the Money in the Bank briefcase. I think Ambrose winning is likely. The only factor that could be in effect is if The Undertaker is supposed to be involved at Summerslam with The Shield. He could easily have the lights go out while Ambrose is climbing, hear a gong, and then Ambrose is out. This sets up that match easily. If this does not happen, I can easily see Ambrose winning. My other option would be Antonio Cesaro. Zeb Colter cuts a great promo on Smackdown with him and Swagger. There are too many heel stables. They are all different. Cesaro needs something meaningful and a briefcase would be huge for his career and development.
Grade: B… for the potential.
CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio ended in No Contest. The main event of the night spurred when both guys kicked off Smackdown. I will say this: Alberto Del Rio is HORRIBLE on the microphone. The way he speaks is absolutely terrible. I almost prefer Ryback on the mic. Del Rio seems so fake and so mechanical when he speaks. The match was pretty good. Del Rio hit a beautiful kick to the back of Punk's head on the ropes. Del Rio controlled most of the match. The ending came when Del Rio hit Heyman in the face, who was on commentary. Punk got extremely pissed and attacked Del Rio. It was a double countout to end the night. Punk would hit GTS on Del Rio and end the night standing tall. Where was Ziggler? Where was ANY Money in the Bank opponents for Punk? You have to build the matches, not try and forget about them a week away from the event. Great match, bad booking, and was illogical.
