Randy Orton – One Step…Who Knows?
If anyone has had an up and down career in recent memory, it's The Viper, and for the life of me I still can't figure out why. During a time when WWE is desperate for star power, they have it standing right in front of them, yet fail to take advantage.
The idea of Orton joining up with The Shield rears its ugly head yet again (although I don't necessarily think it's guaranteed to be ugly like some do).
Putting Randy Orton back in the mix with The Shield after he's already had that run just a short few months ago and seemed to have moved on, I don't find it to be by accident, or even convenience.
The Shield is over, but does Vince feel they need someone like Orton to put them over the top?
Most will look at this and question why The Shield needs Orton. I'm thinking outside the box and see the benefits ORTON could receive from teaming with the over, up-and-coming trio. I won't be surprised if Orton is pushing for that too behind the scenes.
Let's face it, The Shield and its members aren't going anywhere anytime soon. They have full careers ahead of them to rise, fall, bounce back, and in between. Orton isn't granted that luxury anymore. He's not old, but he's certainly not getting any younger.
In the grand scheme of things, TODAY, Orton is the one with more potential upside and value in the short-term. The Shield is still tomorrow's matter.
But I think Orton joining the Shield still has major potential for all four involved. Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns have laid the ground work; Orton could take it to another level.
