Wrestlezone’s Top 10: WCW Superstars

3. Goldberg

Bill Goldberg was a pure athletic beast. Aside from Stone Cold, Goldberg was the hottest talent in professional wrestling in the most critical of times. His undefeated streak started on September 22nd, 1997. In that match, Goldberg crushed Hugh Morris. During this incredible storyline, Goldberg took the United States Championship away from Raven. He vacated that title to get a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. In front of a raucous crowd in his hometown, The Georgia Dome erupted when he defeated Hollywood Hogan for the prestigious championship. He would finally suffer a loss at the hands of Kevin Nash at WCW Starrcade over a year after his streak began. Goldberg was a natural in the ring, did not need to speak much, and really dominated WCW and controlled the company. He was a HUGE reason that WCW was thriving over WWE at that point. 173-0 will never be touched. Bill Goldberg was attitude, was intensity, and was a new character that took the wrestling world by storm.
