He Said/She Said: Austin Aries, Carlito, Rey Mysterio Return

It's time for another riveting edition of "He Said/She Said" where I take a look at some of the good, bad, and ugly in pro wrestling tweets and quotes this week. It's mostly bad and ugly though.

Austin AriesThe Austin Aries Saga

WrestleZone's Mark Madden says that TNA should fire or suspend Austin Aries for inappropriate gesture on Impact: "A male performer intentionally put his genitalia in the face of a female performer in a company owned and run by a woman. If nothing happens, what’s that say about Dixie Carter as a woman? As a human being? Wrestling is a boys’ club, but that went way too far.

I was off for two weeks, so I didn't get the chance to hone in on this. [Please check out the Voice of Wrestling from this past week for more on this topic from me and Nick Paglino.] And if people weren't STILL talking about this two weeks after the fact, I wouldn't care that I missed my chance.

What on earth is wrong with everyone? And by "everyone", I really just mean WrestleZone. And by "WrestleZone", I really just mean one WrestleZone writer, specifically.

"Everyone" is entitled to their opinion, and there's no doubt that Aries' actions were wrong, but giving exaggerated attention to something, just for attention's sake, is pointless and arrogant. The latter description need not be spoken most likely, but I rarely consider this writer's work "pointless", so I was thrown off guard with this.

Furthermore, who's to say Dixie didn't fine or reprimand Aries properly? Why should it be done publicly just for your benefit?

Business matters are never handled that way, and for someone claiming to be such a stickler for rules and regulations, your very demands are contradictory at best.

It doesn't look like Hemme is walking off the job due to TNA's failure to discipline Aries enough. She's not pressing charges. She's not raising a fuss about it. I guess I need to watch the video again, but wasn't SHE the one done wrong?

The "knight in shining armor" gimmick only works when someone actually needs to be rescued. The rest of the time it just makes the knight look silly.
