Wrestlezone’s Top 10: Gimmick Changes to Championships

Number 4: Jean-Paul Levesque to Triple H

Triple H

In WCW, Paul Levesque was Jean-Paul Levesque, a French Canadian aristocrat. When he came to WWE, Hunter Hearst Helmsley was born. He was a blue blood character that, for some reason, spoke with an accent while being billed from Greenwich. This character had a braided pony tail and was a rich jerk. When WWE finally realized that this had no long-term success, Triple H was born. Being in Degeneration X was a saving grace for Paul Levesque. He became a badass, a real tough and funny character that would collect over 23 championships when his career came winding down. HHH switched a drastic and boring character to a more simplistic and realistic character. 1997 King of the Ring Winner, Royal Rumble winner, and a Grand Slam Champion is all under the name of Triple H. He has done it all and won it all. Now, he reigns supreme as the future of the business, from a business standpoint.
