Ryback defeated Daniel Bryan in one of the smartest matches I have seen Ryback wrestle. Daniel Bryan was so good and calculating in his attack of Ryback. He focused on kicking down the beast, working on his legs throughout. I was shocked to see Bryan get as much offense as he did. I loved the dropkick onto Ryback's leg that was suspended on the rope. It was great to see the psychology in full force. Ryback was really light on his feet, working on Bryan with powerful moves. He hit powerbombs and tossed around Bryan. It seemed anytime Bryan had control, Ryback would flip the tables. Ryback wins with Shell Shock for the victory. He is beginning to understand how to be a heel.
-Daniel Bryan was attacked by The Shield backstage. The Shield cut a promo on him, Kane, and The Undertaker. Man, these guys are really good. Ambrose is the star right now, with Rollins very close behind. Reigns is the excellent muscle of the group. The promo work is very solid each time. I appreciate how they continue to say the same thing, but tweak it just enough.
Kane vs. Dean Ambrose ended WWE Smackdown on a high note. The night was focused about Kane trying to get retribution for his brother and teammate. Ambrose is very similar to Bryan in the ring. He is smart, calculating, and is able to make his size work. He gave up so much weight and strength on Kane, but he was quick and elusive when Kane tried to get the upper hand.
The Shield stand tall at the end of the night, hoisting the WWE Tag Team Championships in the air. I enjoyed the conclusion of Smackdown. You knew The Shield would stand tall, but the booking of them has been the most consistent and solid piece of writing since February.
