Wrestlezone’s Top 10: Forgettable Superstars of the Decade

Number 10: Kevin Thorn

June 2006- November 2007

Kevin Thorn

Kevin Fertig, trying out many gimmicks in WWE, debuted a vampire gimmick for ECW in the summer of 2006. He was escorted by Shelly Martinez, Ariel in ECW, and had many vignettes leading up to his debut. The debut was lackluster, with a gimmick that was about 2-3 years too soon. How good were his feuds? He was in feuds with Little Guido, Balls Mahoney, Mike Knox, Stevie Ricards, and Tommy Dreamer. He was sinking very fast after Ariel was released from WWE. He did not speak, did not have much to offer in the ring, and really tried to make it work. He did not succeed and would continue to work dark matches. He joined the New Breed and aligned himself with the new faces of ECW. By November of 2007, WWE lost all interest in a character they put so much stock and effort into. Fertig just never got over and it is ashame. He had some good midcard talent, but could never find a gimmick that could last longer than a few months.
