Title This: Impact Wrestling Reaction 4-25-13

Matt MorganThe Main Event

-Impact wrestling tonight was all about talking. They had four matches, two of them were Knockouts. Instead of having the Aces and Eights fight, Kurt Angle fight, James Storm wrestle, they focused more on other pieces. I am not bashing their decision, but the night felt like it was one really good match off from being an above-average show.

– Matt Morgan came to the ring, wanting to talk to Hulk Hogan. Morgan, who I have always been a huge fan of, talks about solving the Aces and Eights situation. He tells Hogan he will kick Ray's head into the crowd if he gives him what he wants. Morgan wants to be Number One Contender. Morgan puts his size and stature over, talks about what he has done, and wants a chance. Hogan fires back with how Morgan has disrespected him and not earning it. The segment ends with Hogan saying Morgan should stop whining, comparing him to Andre The Giant.

I love the fact that they are finally using Morgan. What does Morgan lack? He has good microphone skills, an intense look, the ability in the ring, and the desire. He is a guy who has put in so much work over the years to be relegated to mediocre. If he gets this opportunity, I will be extremely happy. I really hope that HE does not join Aces and Eights. That would put him right where Mike Knox, Mr. Anderson, and other are. That would make him mediocre once again.

Grade: B

Aces and Eights attack once again, but Hogan is saved by Sting. Sting appears in the ring with a bat to the throat of Hogan, but fights off Aces and Eights. He and Bully Ray scuffle for a bit beforehand, but my biggest problem is not knowing what the payoff is.

Sting vs. Ray?

Hogan vs. Ray?

Are either of these matches a payoff? I really do not think so. They continue to flutter with veteran guys who simply do not need a feud like this to get over. Instead of using Hogan and Sting, why not have this be about a younger guy. I really am getting tired of every Impact focusing on Hulk Hogan.
