WWE SmackdownThe Undercard

Fandango defeated Santino Marella to kick off WWE Smackdown. I actually was surprised to see Fandango kick off the night. It is always a big step in the right direction for a young superstar to start or end a show. I was entertained with his dancing and then mocking of Lilian Garcia. It was quick witted, clever, and fits his character. The match with Santino bothered me. Fandango goes from beating Jericho at Wrestlemania to having to face Santino? His finishing move looked great, but it was against SANTINO!

Kofi Kingston defeated Wade Barrett in a Champion vs. Champion match. This was a great match to watch if you wanted to see old school vs. new school type wrestling. Kingston was on the defensive for quite a bit in the match since Wade was able to punish him and bury him in the mat. The intelligence of Barrett is excellent. He goes from a kick to the stomach, to a head thrust on the table, and then rolls Kofi in for a quick fall. He does not waste time getting to his next move. I enjoy the small things Barrett does. Kofi ends up winning with a roll-up. My only problem is that neither of these guys should lose. They have suffered enough losses in the past few months. Where are the challengers to their championships? Anybody?

The Great Khali, Hornswoggle, and Natalya defeated Primo, Epico, and Rosa Mendes in a mixed 6 man tag team match. I am not sure who is booking these matches, but someone has fallen in love with 3-on-3 matches in the WWE. With these characters in the match, it was basically a buffer to the main event. The crowd could care less and it showed. The best part of the match was when Natalya and Rosa had a few minutes to work together in the ring. I wouldn't mind either of those trying to chase Kaitlyn's Divas Championship.
