Title This: WWE Raw Reaction 4-16-13

The Main Events

-WWE Raw had CM Punk come out and talk about losing to The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 29. He talks about how the WWE Championship was his entire life and how he wanted more. That is why he took on the streak of The Undertaker. He then stops talking, hugs Paul Heyman, and leaves.

-This is the absolute perfect time for Punk to leave. Yes, the star power takes a hit, but he will come back in a month and be even more ready to go. WWE knows what they are doing with CM Punk and are going to keep it under wraps. Let the speculation begin. Will he come back as a face? Will he attack John Cena? What are his motives in coming back? This was done logically, effectively, and showed a vulnerable side of Punk that we have not seen in a very long time. It is needed to continue the evolution of his character. He is a complex guy and will benefit creatively from the time off.

-Dolph Ziggler has two opponents, which he all assumed. Dolph loses in a rollup to Jack Swagger, which gives him a title shot. Alberto Del Rio still has one, so Booker T makes a Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship, presumably at Extreme Rules. My biggest gripe is this: Dolph Ziggler needs to win every single week. He is the champion, damnit, and should not be losing clean to his opponents on a Raw 4 weeks from a Pay Per View. Let Del Rio and Swagger brawl to cause a DQ, and have Ziggler think he is out of an opponent. Then, you can easily give both men their shot at the title, making the heel upset. Is this so hard? No.

-Ryback and John Cena was the big story heading into Raw. Ryback cuts a pre-recorded promo that showed the past 6 months of him getting beaten up by The Shield and John Cena not helping. This let Ryback thrive in a sense to me because he did not have to worry about the crowd and he could take his time in delivering a promo. This set up a meeting in the ring with Cena, who talks about friends beating each other up. Cena says the same few things and then says Ryback lacks a brain and a piece between his legs. They are about to fight, but Ryback leaves. The Shield comes out and beats down John Cena.

-Question 1: Why didn't Team Hell No help Cena? They helped Triple H and The Undertaker. They have a match with them next week. Doesn't that make sense?

-Question 2: Why didn't Ryback get attacked?

-Question 3: Is Ryback aligned with The Shield?

-Question 4: Is it logical to see a guy who has been beaten up time and time again from a group not be attacked?

Yes, these are questions we all thought of. I know, for storyline purposes, the reasoning of Ryback just watching. He is giving Cena a taste of his own medicine. Ryback experienced this multiple times and did not help him out. I just do not like it. There are too many illogical pieces to it.
