The Shield – One Step Up
I was looking for a little more out of the rebel trio last night on Raw – maybe an actual match set for WrestleMania – but I'm still giving them a step up this week. I liked the way they handled Rollins' match with Big Show, although I can't say I love the idea of Big Show turning face yet again (if that is actually the plan).
The singles match, even if it didn't go the entire distance, was a good change from the normal six-man tags we've bene getting, and will likely be getting again at WrestleMania.
It looks like The Shield will face Randy Orton, Sheamus, and possibly Big Show at 'Mania this year. That leads us to the idea of Randy Orton turning heel and becoming the fourth member of the heel group. I see both sides of it, but think I'm leaning more in favor of it than I am against it. By the way, Nick Paglino and I will be discussing this very topic in-depth on next Monday's VOW show.
In either case, I thought the group looked great last night. The powerbomb spot was well executed and slowly but surely, it seems like the fans are reacting more and more each time they appear and attack.
Their potential knows no bounds.
