The Main Event
-The night started off with The Undertaker coming out and raising his arms. As he raised them, a Wrestlemania logo appeared on the screen. We then kicked off the show with CM Punk, Randy Orton, The Big Show, and Sheamus all wanting a shot against The Undertaker. The night's main event was set, with the winner facing the 20-0 streak at Wrestlemania.
CM Punk defeated Randy Orton, Sheamus, and The Big Show. We all knew that CM Punk was going to win, but we did not know how he would do it. My first thoughts were The Shield could come out and attack the other three men, thus giving CM Punk the victory, In retrospect, I like how they gave Punk a clean win. He needs to look as dominant as possible the next few weeks so people will believe that he can beat The Undertaker.
-There has never been a guy so hot and so ready for a match of this caliber than CM Punk. This, in many instances, is much bigger and better for him to fight at than going for the WWE Championship. That has been done already, and he is the reason that title means so much right now. I love the ending with them simply looking at one another and seeing the realistic expression on the face of CM Punk. I really hope they let Punk attack Taker each week, even possibly having The Shield align with him officially and taking out the Deadman. This would open the flood gates for many idea and opportunities. Punk needs to be seen as the strong one, the intelligent one, and the one that could potentially end the illustrious streak. If he talks and Taker talks for the next month, what is the point? We know they both can get over a promo, so why not show a vulnerable and weak Undertaker? That would WORK.
