The Undercard Part Two
Rey Mysterio defeated Daniel Bryan . This was going to be an exciting match, and I was a big fan of it. Bryan is booked more as a heel here, I assume, with Mysterio working on the legs of Bryan throughout. This was a very intelligent way to try and gain the upper hand, and something we do not see often. Both men are similar in the way they attack their opponent. It looks like sometimes they can strike from the same angle and try to gain the advantage by simple kicks. I loved when Bryan was able to use an old school surfboard stretch, followed by a head takedown, and finished the sequence off with a fierce uppercut. You can easily see how good two men work together when they can execute move after move without missing a step. The end say Rey pick up the upset over Bryan, which I was alright with. I do think Sin and Rey deserve a championship title match, and is more high profile than PTP. Maybe they can use all three teams in a match, to give us uncertainty. Grade: B+
Sheamus defeated Antonio Cesaro. This was my favorite match of the night. At first, I was nervous in the thought that Sheamus would get one of his typical squashes. Instead, this was the best match of Antonio Cesaro's career. His European Uppercut is unique, along with his brawling techniques. I loved the reverse shoulder slam variation, espeically with a large opponent like Sheamus. This was highly impressive to me. As the match went on, we saw the usual comeback by the former World Champion, only to see Cesaro lose by a countout. With The Big Show's music hitting, the countout will somewhat be forgotten, will not hurt him in the long run, and will try and focus back on the World Championship picture. Sheamus and Show didn't really do much after the match, with Show ruining a chair. Eh, it was not impressive to me. I won't let the match and the performance be affected by it. Grade: A
Damien Sandow defeated Zack Ryder in a match that we have seen before. I was happy to see Sandow get back to single's action, but this is a step back for him. When you have to go back to beating lower card talents, you realy do not benefit from it as a whole. Sandow looked good, had to defend against a hot Ryder in the middle part of the match, and would reverse his move into a Neckbreaker. I just love the old school heel character that he portrays. He will continue to get better, but did not take any forward steps. Grade: B
