The Undercard
Ryback defeated Tensai to start off Monday Night Raw. This was after Ryback talked about getting revenge and tearing the place apart to find CM Punk. Ryback and Tensai have a solid 5 minute match, with Tensai able to ground his opponent early on in the match. Ryback was able to come back with pure strength, hit Shell Shock, and pick up the victory. I wanted to see more than a meaningless Tensai match to start off Raw. When you could have made a huge impact early, WWE failed. Grade: C-
Wade Barrett defeated Kofi Kingston in a very intriguing pairing. From the very beginning, I thought this was a great way to bring Barrett's importance quickly, as well as give Kofi someone else to work with. It seems like Kingston always works with the same type of superstar, but tonight he sold the strength and tenacity of Barrett to perfection. Kingston reminds me of Ziggler, in the way that he sells each move. Barrett beat down the IC Champion, with strong kicks to the sternum and legs. Kingston was able to hit the Boom Drop, as well as some other great counters, but Barrett hit his finishing elbow to the face for the victory. A clean win is always good for Wade, and this one was one of the better and more meaningful matches of the night. It looks like this feud can continue, and will last for a good bit. I am in support because it will have Kingston thrive more outside of the ring, while Barrett continues to push to the top. Grade: A-
Kaitlyn Defeated Aksana in the only Divas match of the night. After a loss to Eve, Kaitlyn rebounded with a victory on Raw. I was surprised that this match was not a complete squash, let Aksana lock in a submission hold over the top rope, and gave it a little time to develop. I thought Kaitlyn looked strong, and her offense does not need to be clean to be a good Diva. She can easily be a female brawler, as that is what her body type is supposed to be. Grade: C+
Antonio Cesaro defeated Brodus Clay. The biggest part of this match had nothing to do with the ring action, but the fact that R-Truth was at commentary. It looks like he will get another shot, but I am not sure why. Instead of Truth, bring Swagger back to be the "American" to beat Cesaro. Cesaro is so strong and athletic, and needs someone of that same ilk. Hopefully, Truth will not get another PPV Championship match. I really do not think the crowd will invest in this mid card feud at all. Grade: C
