Eve vs. Kaitlyn
Results: Kaitlyn was once again attacked before the match, but this time she managed to shake off the assault and unmask the assailant as Aksana. Eve would win the match with a swinging neckbreaker and the pinfall at 7:01.
Review: In my opinion, this match defied the rules of good storytelling, and it did not payoff. Eve has obviously hired Askana to do her dirty work, because she doesn’t feel confident in her ability to defeat Kaitlyn. It’s classic heel, and I like that. But Kaitlyn shook off that attack and shoved down the Divas Champion prior to the match. She was looking hot and dominant; the next logical step in the story is to have her win the title.
Now, don’t get me wrong…I don’t really like Kaitlyn that much. She’s not a solid in-ring performer despite what the majority of the internet seems to think. She’s finally stopped looking like a lost puppy on her way down to the ring, but I haven’t seen a single match from her when she stepped up and out-performed everyone around her. So I’m not just complaining about Eve being the Champion, because I really don’t want her to drop the belt! I’m just saying, the route they took lending itself nicely to a title change, and having Eve retain in that given scenario killed what little momentum Kaitlyn had.

Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth
Results: R-Truth went for the scissors kick, but Cesaro managed to duck out of the way and catch him with a big uppercut. The Neutralizer finishers the match at 6:57. Cesaro retains.
Review: Not a bad match from two talented mid-card wrestlers, but a very unenthusiastic crowd kind of killed it for me. It’s a shame, because both Cesaro and Truth are phenomenal performers that could have a very bright future in WWE. The US Champion just isn’t drawing heat; I’ve been saying for years that the foreign heel gimmick is dead. Wrestling fans are now from all over the world, and all walks of life; you can’t rely on the crazy right-wing chauvinists to get all up-in-arms over a bad guy that hates America.
I liked these two together, but my gut says we won’t see this match again on pay-per-view. Every week on both shows the commentary team puts over how Cesaro can’t be beaten by an American. With news and rumors that WWE wants to bring back Jack Swagger as a babyface, the eventuality of their head-on collision is unavoidable. Who better to beat Cesaro and become the new US Champion than the All-American American? The question is, will people accept Swagger as a face?
