Bobby Roode vs. James Storm headlined this interesting edition of Impact. As we saw at Turning Point, Storm won the 3-Way match to become the Number 1 Contender. The beginning of the night, Storm and Roode had a wonderful exchange of words, which led Storm accepting the challange of putting his contendership on the line tonight. Roode and Storm, like always, put on one hell of a match. There really is something great going on in this company, and thanks to these two for carrying it. Along with Hardy and Aries, these guys are really excellent each week. Storm and Roode know one another so well that it shows in the ring. The chemistry is second to none, and I loved this match.
The action was great when Roode sets up a keylock, but Storm would get back to his feet. The men exchange right hands to get the crowd excited, and Storm gets a Russian legsweep to claw his way back into the match. This was dramatic, intense, and really got the interest from the fans in the Impact Zone. Storm hits a running neckbreaker, some clotheslines, and gets ready for Last Call. Roode throws Earl Hebner to stop Storm, rolls up Storm, and steals the win. I do not agree with this, as I think Storm deserves a shot, but Roode is the heel and is the overall better opponent for Jeff Hardy. I just do not like how this happened, AGAIN. It happened when Storm dropped the title to Roode shortly after winning it, and now it happens again. Maybe this is logical and smart for the overall feud of these guys, but the best payoff would have to be them for the gold at Bound For Glory 2013, right? Grade: A-
Impact Grade: B
