The Undercard Continued:
Kaitlyn defeated Layla and will get to face Eve at Survivor Series. I enjoyed to see the development of Kaitlyn, and feel this is the right time to push her. Eve needs someone that the crowd could connect with, and we have not gotten that with Layla. Kaitlyn is more like the crowd, unique, and has certain features that obviously the male audience like. Kaitlyn is strong, powerful, and young. With her power and Eve's intelligence in the ring, I think this was the best choice possible. This match was okay, had Kaitlyn showcase her abilities to an extent, and Layla took the much needed backseat. Grade: B-
International Airstrike, Rey Mysterio, and Sin Cara defeated Primetime Players, Primo and Epico in the most entertaining match of the night. I really enjoyed this because Gabriel, Kidd, and PTP did an excellent job keeping the pace of the match going. With the team of the faces, this gave an opportunity for the youngsters to get the crowd reaction they deserve. This is what Rey should do, to help the young guys get the important matches. I felt like that O'Neil was excellent like always, mixing powerslams and clotheslines. When the match picked up at the end, we got a flying attack. Great action from the very beginning of the match. my only gripe is that this should be a Survivor Series match. This could be great to start off the night, use the arial assault to intrigue the crowd, and set the stage for the rest of the night. Grade: B+
The Miz and Kane defeated Team Rhodes Scholars in the final match of Team Foley vs. Team Ziggler. This was also very intriguing to me for a few reasons. Finally, The Miz has become a face. Instead of him helping Kofi Kingston, or even interfering, he got the crowd's vote. Now, we all know that the voting was most likely rigged, but the crowd really supported him. He had a great backstage segment with Ziggler and Foley, and then came out to a great reaction. It will take time, but his skills in the ring will connect with the crowd. I love his backbreaker into a swinging neckbreaker to reverse into his offense. I feel like he can easily work with anyone and still be taken seriously. With a face turn, many people will forget his squash matches against Santino, in which he lost. Damien Sandow is the real deal in many ways, and have surpassed Cody Rhodes in my eyes as the next great superstar. His character is so old school, so unique, and he is very gifted in the ring. His timing is impeccible, as well as his execution of simple moves to look complex. I love watching him wrestle, and he is one guy that should shine at Survivor Series. Grade: B
