The Main Event
Even though it was not the actual main event, Sheamus and Big Show were the big story of the night. First off, the video of Big Show attacking Sheamus was intelligently done to make it seem realistic and not a work. The "cell phone" footage was clever, and the crowd seemingly bought into it. Second, this feud continues to get better because of the physical altercation. I have said it for weeks that they need to talk and not fight. After the opening segment, Wade Barrett would come out and be on Big Show's team against William Regal and Sheamus. Big Show and Wade Barrett defeated Sheamus and William Regal in an entertaining match. Yes, we all knew Regal was used only because of where Smackdown was. I am absolutely alright with that, especially since he did not get any cheap offense in. Barrett would dominate most of the match, until Show came in. Sheamus got a hot tag, cleaned the ring, but it was not enough. Show would hit the WMD on Regal to get the victory. Am I more interested to see Show vs. Sheamus Part 2? Absolutely. I want to see this match now because there is a personal heat and beef between the two. We have a reason to invest our time into these guys. We know they can deliver on PPV, but can they deliver consecutively in the next few weeks? We shall see, but I thought this was the biggest outcome of the night. We needed something to connect on, and I got that from Sheamus and Big Show's altercation in many ways. Grade: B+
