Randy OrtonThe Stories

The one story that really caught my attention tonight was Randy Orton defeating Alberto Del Rio in a Falls Count Anywhere match to end Smackdown. First off, the match was excellent. They started by heading into the crowd and really giving a brawl feel to their fight. This makes the match feel more personal and more heat behind it. Orton and Del Rio slugged away through the crowd, headed to the concourse area, and came back. The match lasted about 25 minutes total of television time. Alberto hit a great kick onto Orton, which would send him through a table. At this point, I really thought Del Rio could walk away with a victory. I was mistaken, as Orton fired back on all cylinders. He attacked Ricardo briefly, focused his attention onto Del Rio, and would finish him off with an RKO. There was everything in this match, including chairs, tables, and outside interference. Even though this is a PG Era, a match like this is so critical in executing correctly. It was great, and I appreciated the efforts of both guys to put on an even better match than Hell in a Cell. Now, where does Alberto Del Rio and Randy Orton go from here? After their match at Survivor Series, they will have no feud to work with and nobody that is on their radar. I just wonder what creative ideas you can give to these guys. Orton has faced seemingly everyone, and should get back to the World Heavyweight Championship picture. If that happens, you will have Sheamus lose steam and Del Rio be typically meaningless. My question to the reader is What does Alberto Del Rio do now? Grade: A-
