Brad Maddox – One Step Down
I was halfway optimistic following Raw Monday night that the story of the "rogue referee" would be squashed quickly. No one benefits from it that I can see.
His involvement at Hell in a Cell was a solution to a problem WWE created for themselves. With that over, I can only see it going downhill from here.
WWE tends to over-book these types of stories and drag them out too long. And from a logical standpoint, if questioning was going to take place, wouldn't you generally do that BEFORE you suspend him?
In either case, I'll wait to see how they follow up tomorrow. I would imagine WWE's intention is to reveal Punk and Heyman behind Maddox's HIAC involvement, and then let Ryback get one over on Maddox physically. I'll accept that, but I can't see a way anyone would gain from pushing it any further than that.
Samoa Joe/Magnus – One Step Up
Samoa Joe is on fire right now and I give Magnus a lot of credit for that fact. The chemistry between these two is very apparent and it's bringing the best out in both of them.
I'm starting to see why Sting and others are so high on Magnus — he has a lot of charisma and seems to be a natural on the mic.
I've always been a fan of Samoa Joe and personally, I think he's one of the most underrated wrestlers in the business over the past few years. I think it's crazy TNA officials have used him so poorly during that time. And even though the TV title is still a waste, it at least gives Joe something semi-meaningful to do.
