The Undercard
Impact Wrestling had some pretty solid matches tonight, even though it did not add to many feuds. The night started off with Samoa Joe vs. Magnus, in which Joe would win by a disqualification. I really thought Magnus came out of his shell a little bit here, getting a wrench and beating Joe with it. Joe has a history with Magnus, so this feud has some legs to it. I wanted to see more in the match, as I felt it needed more action and intensity. Grade: C
Jeff Hardy defeated Robbie E in a non title match on Impact as well. Jeff Hardy and Robbie E really work well together inside the ring. Robbie E was able to take some of the offensive load over Hardy, who had to fight back to pick up the victory. Wha we got here was a good match, with a predictable ending. I really enjoy the fighting between the two, and after the match came Austin Aries. Aries made a mention of a Ladder, and Hardy challenged him to a Ladder Match at Turning Point. I loved the progression of the feud, and thought Robbie E got a good rub (even though he lost to the champ.) Grade: B-
Christian York lost to Zema Ion in a Gutcheck Challenge match. York, who was with the company ten years ago, gets his first shot since then. He is very similar to Tyler Reks, in the dreadlocks and great physique. He impressed me to a point, but I thought Ion needed to lose this match. Ion is someone who does not have a match or feud currently to focus on, and he deserves it. York hits a beautiful Neckbreaker, and really gets the crowd behind him. Overall, he looked solid, but the Gutcheck is getting old to me. Focus on the guys you have, and build from that. Grade: C
Jesse defeated ODB in a pretty boring match. This really did nothing for me, as Tara needs to be the one in the ring. Do we really want to see a male vs female match? It is very illogical. Grade: D
