Giant Gonzales, real name Jorge Gonzalez, was the tallest superstar ever to compete in a WWE ring. Billed at 8 feet tall (real height 7’7″) and weighing in at 460 pounds, this Argentina born superstar made his pro wrestling debut in 1990 at WCW’s Capital Combat event, competing under the name El Gigante.

Prior to becoming a pro wrestler, Gonzales had been drafted by the Atlanta Hawks NBA team in 1988, but due to complications stemming from a knee injury, he decided to turn to wrestling.

Gonzales made his WWE debut in 1993 at The Royal Rumble PPV, and while he was technically not a participant in the over-the-top-rope battle royal match, he entered the ring during the bout and attacked The Undertaker.

Gonzales would continue to feud with The Undertaker until losing to the Dead Man in a Rest in Peace match at SummerSlam in 1993. Gonzales left WWE shortly after SummerSlam, and retired from pro wrestling. He died in 2010 at the age of 44 due to complications stemming from his immense size.
