Title This: WWE Smackdown Reaction

WWE SmackdownOpening Segment

What I Liked:

Smackdown starts with MizTv, and Miz talks about losing the IC Title. He announces he will get his rematch at Hell in a Cell. Miz brings out the Tag Champions, and he mocks them for coming out separately. Miz begins to talk about them losing at Hell in a Cell, and calls Daniel Bryan a weak link. I thought this was very smart from The Miz, to get more heat on him while focusing on the champions as well. Miz is great on the microphone, so I enjoy MizTV. Big Show comes out and talks about beating Sheamus. Him and Bryan get in each other's face. Dolph and Vickie come out and talk about when he will cash in. Booker T finally comes out and says Dolph and Show vs. Team Hell No, while The Miz will face Randy Orton. Overall, this segment did many good things. They included basically four storylines into one, with two different matches. Miz and Orton should be really entertaining, especially with the history of Miz cashing in on Orton a few years ago.

What I Disliked:

The only missing piece was Del Rio. Sheamus has the crowd behind him, so I was alright with him not coming out. I think Del Rio is still viewed as less important than everyone in the ring. He could have easily benefitted from being in the ring with everyone.

Grade: B+

Randy Orton Defeats The Miz

What I Liked:

They did not waste time getting to the action, with Orton controlling The Miz in the early parts of the match. Orton is very calculated in his moves, focusing on a specific body part. Tonight, he focused on the sternum of Miz, who was grounded from the very beginning. Miz would come back and get some offense in, including a beautiful inverted backbreaker. I love this move because it is something simple, tweaked a bit, and is specific for only The Miz. The end of the match had Orton reverse out of a Skull Crushing Finale, hitting an RKO, and picking up the victory. This was a very well planned out match with little to no flaws.

Grade: B+

-Sheamus is backstage with Teddy Long, and he wants a rematch with Barrett to find out a winner. He makes a Lumberjack Match for later tonight. Why is Teddy making matches?
