Hernandez Defeats AJ Styles
What I Liked:
Styles and Hernandez are two TNA guys who know how to work inside of the ring. Styles is very intelligent from the beginning of the match, knowing that he cannot overpower the big ox. He hit several kicks to his knees, with the attempt to chop him down. We progress the match with Hernandez showing his strength, sending Styles into the corner with strength. As AJ tries to set up his signature moves, Hernandez hits a huge shoulder block and picks up the upset victory. I was shocked to see this victory, and feel like it may not have been the best idea.
What I Disliked:
Personally, it looks like Styles and Angle are going to split up. I think it is the wrong idea actually, especially with such a crowded World Title picture. They work well together, can separate themselves from the main guys, and build a more complete card each Pay Per View. I could care less for a random single's match for one of the guys, with a Samoa Joe or Magnus. We have seen stuff like this before and need to see more creativity with these uber-talented superstars.
Grade: B-
-Aces and Eights talk about being locked out, or locked in.
–Zema Ion comes out and talks about being the X Division Champion and beating everyone. RVD comes out and says he was given the opportunity to pick who he fights, and he chooses Ion. They will fight at Bound For Glory. Wow, this was random and I hated it. No history or back story, no intrigue, and a random match thrown together just to utilize two above average talents. Didn't they have over a month to do something with either of these guys?
–Sting and Bully Ray are in the back, and Sting says he needs to be able to trust Ray, or they will not leave Phoenix as the winners. Tonight is the night where he has to prove himself.
