Zema Ion Defeats Doug Williams
What I Liked:
Williams sent Ion flying with a clotheslines over the ropes. Ion shoves Williams into the post, and both men exchange blows. Ion locks in a submission move and gets him to tap out. I enjoy Ion, his submission hold, and his personality. This was an aggressive way to show Ion. The winner ends up being Williams via reversed decision. Ion says he should reperesent TNA, but he is taking his name off the list. He continues to use the pretty boy gimmick. Nobody else is really using that right now, so I am okay with it.
What I Disliked:
Find someone else besides Doug Williams. He is a William Regal type guy, a veteran with not much more to gain. Let him go away, add someone else to fight Ion, and make the X Division Championship meaningful again. It simply is not.
Grade: C
James Storm and Bobby Roode
What I Liked:
James Storm says he is coming to Bound For Glory to be the better man. He talks about how a year ago, this all started. Storm talks about King Mo being the special enforcer, but Roode comes out to interrupt him. They talk about their personal feuds, the intensity, and the hatred they both have with one another. Bobby Roode says this will be a fight, and he will not stop until he finally ended his career. Man, I love the personal heat here. It feels real, feels intense, and feels like Roode could potentially feud with King Mo afterwards. He talks about how King Mo will not be able to stop him. King Mo comes out and shoves Roode. Great work on all ends here to pump up the match even more. Also, do not let Storm and Roode touch one another before the match.
