Number 9: Lawler vs. Bockwinkle
With his brash demeanor and arrogance, Bockwinkel played the role of the rich playboy champion to perfection, some would argue much more effectively than eventual NWA World champion Ric Flair. As he spoke, the crowd would have to get a dictionary to understand what he was saying. If you think Jericho has a plethora of words, listen to a promo by Bockwinkle. The best part was he could go in the ring, and it was greatness. Bockwinkle was the prototypical World Champion in the late 70’s and into the 1980’s. Lawler and Bockwinkle would feud over this title, and it began to take shape to see what Lawler was made of. The matches were flawless, the chemistry was excellent, and these two men made sure that each made had a little something different.
