Title This: WWE Raw Reaction 7-30-12

Opening Segment:

What I Liked:

CM Punk comes out and talks about what he did last week. He talks directly to Jerry Lawler, sitting on the announcer's table, about his comments about turning his back on the WWE Universe. He speaks a lot of truth about his feelings towards The Rock. I really liked the fact that this is the Punk everyone fell in love with. A guy with no limitations and no restrictions, CM Punk comes back hard with his words. I also felt the right thing was to have Show and Cena come out as well to somewhat steal the spotlight. This will be a continued gripe for CM Punk, and for well reasoning. The best thing he said was how the WWE Championship should be the primary focus, and not other guys like Rock. This was an excellent way to keep him as a tweener without the drastic measure of quickly turning him into a full fledged heel.

What I Disliked:

Big Show really does not have a big problem with CM Punk, so it kind of felt ridiculous to have him confront the champion. He helped Punk last week, and I feel like this segment was needed more to have Cena talk to Punk about his loss. Either way, they furthered the biggest angle from Raw 1,000 and made a big main event.

Grade: A

Alberto Del Rio def. Santino Marella

What I Liked:

It was not your typical match between these two. We have seen this match about four times in the past couple of months on Raw, trying to get heat on Del Rio. I like Del Rio's change of attitude in the ring, more aggressive and more physical. He has a great skill set, and he is beginning to get better at the little things, like facial expressions and connecting with the crowd.

What I Disliked:

So, Alberto Del Rio has a hard time beating Santino, but Antonio Cesaro beats him in under five minutes on Smackdown? Where is the logic in this match? I absolutely hated the fact that a guy like Del Rio, who is being built up continuously as a World Champion, faces a simple comedy act. It really is time for Santino to drop the title to someone who can carry a feud for a considerable amount of time. I think everyone agrees with me in saying Santino does not need a title to stay relevant on television. Also, I want Del Rio to have more face to face time with Sheamus. Show your champion and contender face to face instead of barely recognizing it.

Grade: C

-Damien Sandow comes out after Vickie dances with Brodus Clay. Sandow attacks Clay, and severly beats him down. I absolutely loved this for Sandow because he needs to continue to get the exposure, and attacking a guy like Clay makes him important. The fans love Clay and the fans will begin to hate Sandow even more because of this. Well done without having either guy fight in a match. Grade: B+
