sheamusSHEAMUS – ONE STEP DOWN

I won't continue my ranting and raving about turning Sheamus heel — it should happen, and quickly — but I'm going to use him as an example of a consistent problem in WWE. It's nothing new, but it seems they refuse to try something different/potentially better.

Why does it not make sense to Vince and Co. that strong heels can make stronger babyfaces? Why does Sheamus have to win ALL the time as champion? Even in non-title matches that would hurt him very little, if at all, to lose.

Protect your babyfaces, protect your champions – a WWE philosophy I feel they take entirely too far.

This isn't novel or innovative. It's Wrestling Booking 101. Paul Heyman recently stated in an interview that wrestling is easy. It's good guy vs. bad guy. Build your bad guy up, up, up, then have the good guy kick his ass.

Sheamus is an average main-event, babyface champion. When an average main-event champion is constantly beating the heel challengers, do the math and figure out how difficult it is for heels working Sheamus to become even average.

If you're not good at math, just ask Del Rio how difficult it is.
