Mt. Killamanjaro: WWE Money in the Bank Preview & Predictions

WWE Championship – Special Guest Referee: AJ
CM Punk (c) vs. Daniel Bryan

Daniel BryanAJ Lee is selling an entire PPV better than the six hundred years of indy experience Punk and Bryan have between themselves. Some think that’s a problem – that women in wrestling are only supposed to “enhance”, and not take away from the men they’re paid to “get over”. To a certain extent I agree, because the guys have a statistical advantage in that people actually pay to see them. But the bottom line here is entertainment, not professional wresting. AJ may be the first woman to ever sell me on a PPV; more power to her.

So how does this one resolve? The conspiracy theory angle is always a popular one. It states that Daniel Bryan and AJ have been playing Punk this entire time to try and “get inside his head”. There’s a lot of small details that keep this from being totally plausable, but since when has Vince McMahon or WWE Creative ever been a stickler for the small things?

I’m going to go out an a limb here – a better limb – because I’m always wrong with my predictions anyways. I say that AJ isn’t “using” either man. I say that she’s moved past the point of jealousy and entered into full blown redeption mode. I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see this year’s WWE Championship Money in the Bank winner reveal themselves as AJ’s man, only to cash in and walk out with the title. It’s about that time of the year anyways! Which leads me to…

Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins, MITB winner cashes in

WWE Championship Money in the Bank Ladder Match
John Cena vs. Chris Jericho vs. Big Show vs. Kane vs. ??

What an awful Money in the Bank match. Not that it needs to be said, but there isn’t even a viably interesting winner in the match, save for MAYBE Chris Jericho. Maybe. That’s why I don’t think it’s going to be any of these four men…

Rather, I believe the rumours that WWE is interested in bringing in extra names for this match are true. I also believe we will see the Miz make his return, and potentially become a two-time briefcase winner. This ties in perfectly to my angle with AJ, as her and Miz would make an absolutely brilliant on-screen couple. Miz has the arrogance that Bryan did, but is much, much better at drawing heat. Not only does it keep AJ in the main event scene (where we all want her), but it launches Miz right back where he belongs: the WWE Championship.

Note: I wouldn’t necessarily count out Chris Jericho either. He has a lot of history with both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, and I could honestly see a partnership with AJ working, in a very strange way. Don’t rule anything out until the final fade-to-black.

Prediction: Miz wins, cashes in on Punk or Bryan
