Title This: WWE Smackdown Reaction 7-13

WWE SmackdownAlberto Del Rio def. Sin Cara

What I Liked:

We start off Smackdown with some solid in ring wrestling. Both guys work well together, and I thought it was smart to have Del Rio start the show by interrupting Zack Ryder. Cara started off with some nice spots to garner a bit of offense. This was different than the squash we saw a few weeks ago. I wanted Cara to control the offense for a bit because it wouldn't make Del Rio look weak. After a horrible week of wrestling, Smackdown got back to basics. Del Rio was obviously going to win this match, but the way he won it was a lot better creatively. Also, I like the fact Del Rio wins with his submission hold and not switching finishers. It looks aggressive and more powerful for an athletic built like like Alberto.

What I Disliked:

The match was good, not great. I wanted some involvement with Sheamus after the match because they need as much time together on television to sell the feud. Give it more meaning, and have Sheamus try to attack Del Rio. He still should be seeking revenge for the car hood being slammed on him a week ago.

-Zack Ryder books Big Show vs. The Great Khali for later tonight.

Primo def. Darren Young

What I Liked:

At first, I assumed we were going to get some tag team wrestling. Instead, we get a singles match between two guys who are feuding. Is this feud actually working? The ring work was alright, but neither are connecting with the crowd or the audience at home. This is due to a lack of intelligent booking. Neither are seen for weeks in a level of importance. The WWE Tag Team Champions are not being used, so why would we care about the contenders?

What I Disliked:

It was just an overall sloppy match with little interest from myself and the crowd. If they actually gave me time to care about them, I may feel a little different. Darren Young pulls the John Cena-esuq move. It did not look as good, and that is a little shocking.
