JOHNNY ACE – ONE STEP DOWN
He loses his TV spot and new reports continue to surface claiming John Laurinaitis is losing more and more of his real-life, backstage duties as well. Poor guy.
I stand firm by my opinion that Johnny Ace was an effective, entertaining GM. And I'm still expecting WWE to find a place for him on camera at some point, but I hope the time off TV during the interim doesn't cause fans to forget that they once cared about him.
Some are reading too much into the recent behind-the-scenes stories circulating around Laurinaitis. Maybe, just maybe, he is on his way out of the company, but there's absolutely no way we could know that right now.
WWE, per Triple H, is going through a number of changes in personnel, their development system, and more. Their infrastructure was always bound to evolve at some point. And although that does typically require the releases of some employees, it can also mean the shifting of those that do remain on staff.
This could be a promotion for Laurinaitis, with fewer responsibilities as an added bonus.
That being said, it would certainly be a funny form of poetic justice if he were to be "future endeavored", don't ya think?
