Mt. Killamanjaro: Slammiversary Preview – Ten Years of TNA

RVD vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson

RVDTNA is running out of top talent to face Bobby Roode, and these three have been dancing around each other since they all arrived in TNA. The fact that three faces are challenging for contention to the title also provides a good indication that Sting will not take home the belt tonight. Anderson is the most likely to win this, as RVD and Jeff Hardy have both had their chances to face Roode man-to-man for the TNA World Championship. But will it matter? What have any of these three actually done in 2012 to merit a shot at the gold? If TNA didn’t allow RVD or Hardy to take the belt from Roode, they’re sure as hell not going to let Anderson do it on an episode of Impact… Still, he’s the easy money pick to win this. I’m just hoping they move up guys like Austin Aries soon to add depth to their main event roster.

Prediction: Mr. Anderson wins

Bully Ray vs Joseph Parks

Bully RayBehold, the current best feud on Impact Wrestling. I know it’s ridiculous, and we all know Joseph Parks is just Abyss with more teeth and a suit, but it’s been a really fun ride up until this point. Bully Ray continues to be the best heel in wrestling, and Parks has managed to make me interested in his character for the first time in my long tenure as a TNA viewer. So how does this play out? When does Joseph Parks reveal himself as Abyss? WILL he reveal himself as Abyss? As silly as it may sound, they could easily play this whole angle off with two different characters, and get away with it. I keep saying this is going to stop being entertaining if they don’t wrap it up, but they continue to prove me wrong each and every time.

Prediction: Joseph Parks wins…somehow

TNA World Championship – Bobby Roode vs Sting

Bobby RoodeYes, we did just see this match on PPV a few months ago. But this time, Hulk Hogan is in charge and the Championship is on the line! I know, super exciting… It’s also one of TNA’s big PPV events and a milestone anniversary. For whatever reason, they figured putting Sting back into the picture was a better option than putting James Storm back into the picture for that bloodbath of a final encounter we’re all looking forward to… Hopefully that means it’s slated for Bound for Glory, and we get several more months of Bobby Roode’s awesomeness! I just don’t see the money in taking the belt off Roode for a guy who certainly doesn’t need the win. Unless of course, beating Roode will convince Justin LaBar that Sting is indeed an Icon…

Prediction: Bobby Roode retains

Almost every single TNA PPV of the last year has disappointed me, which always surprises me because the Impact product so thoroughly entertains me! But time and time again I’m willing to give them another shot; Slammiversary has a lot of potential. If they handle Christian’s appearance well, and allow time for the right guys to work this could be their event of the year. A decent balance of great wrestlers and storytellers provide TNA with all the right ingredients; it’s just a shame that more often than not we’re “paying” for a product that tastes like shit. As a wrestling fan, I’ll continue to personify the definition of crazy…
