Opening Segment
What I Liked:
Alberto Del Rio came out mocking Sheamus. He has Ricardo dressed as Sheamus, which was comical to me. I thought this beginning segment was needed for the growth of Del Rio's character. He utilizes Ricardo perfectly and makes the segment different than usual Del Rio ones. We quickly switch from comedy to intensity, where Sheamus comes out and attacks. The fight spills to the stage, where Sheamus brutalizes Del Rio. They gave the segment a lot of time for it to develop. We get Sheamus vs. Kane and Del Rio vs. The Great Khali for tonight. This segment was overdue for both guys, especially given the fact they have only a few shows to build their lackluster feud.
What I Disliked:
I hated the fact Teddy Long was "put in charge." Why not Eve or Otunga? This makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever, especially for Laurinaitis to give Long the keys of the show. Stupid, stupid booking.
Grade: B+
Alberto Del Rio def. The Great Khali
What I Liked:
You see an aggressive and quickly manipulative Del Rio in the match. That is really the only positive we get here.
What I Disliked:
What else is there to say about Great Khali and his lack of putting on a good match? We knew what was going to happen, and we saw it unfold on Smackdown. Khali hits a few moves, nothing special. Do we take him serious as a challenge for Del Rio? I sure do not.
Grade: D
-Teddy Long tells Brodus Clay he is banned from Raw and exclusively on Smackdown…. That lasted long for him, huh?
