I’ll be discussing the following topics tonight on the special edition of the “Voice of Wrestling” show with Nick Paglino. The live broadcast starts at 7:00 EST and can be found on VOWLive.com and here on WrestleZone. Kevin Kelly will also be returning live tonight with his “Plan B” segment.
#3. CHRIS JERICHO LIES!
Or maybe it’s the truth. Who knows and who cares? Chris Jericho’s recent comments regarding his return videos bother me to no end.
He claims fans read too deep into the meaning of the videos, the girl featured in them, all of it. We were just wrong to think they meant more they did. Apparently, he and WWE accomplished exactly what was intended with the videos and his return.
Can we recap then? Actually, there’s no need to — if five pay per view losses, several false promises, and a ton of resulting disappointment is what was intended all along, who am I to argue?
Maybe as fans, we did read too much into the cryptic videos. But we weren’t wrong in doing so.
WWE (again) invested a lot of time, effort and resources to hype up Jericho’s return. We got excited, especially when we knew Jericho would likely be feuding with Punk. We complimented Jericho with major praise, expecting him to live up to what he’s capable of, and assumed something great would be the result.
Rather, we got mediocrity. And I feel that might even be too generous.
Jericho, you can piss on my boots, but don’t tell me it’s raining.
