Title This: WWE Raw Reaction 5-7-12

WWE RawOpening Segment:

John Laurinaitis comes out and says he is the leader of the WWE. He says nobody will challenge his authority. When he loses his temper, he says that no one will be able to stop his destruction. He goes on to say the the directors understood what he did and he is not in trouble. We get a history lesson of Laurinaitis and his in ring success in Japan. He brags about himself, and says he is bigger than Brock and Rock. CM Punk interrupts, and heads to the ring. Punk says that he knows the truth and he says that Johnny is doing this all about Lesnar being his guy and that Cena beat him. He calls him a joke and calls him a toolbox, among other names.

What I Liked:

I really liked how John Laurinaitis took control of the show and is continuing to get better and better each week. He did not slip up and was able to carry the entire segment by himself. He had a lot of truth to what he said, and the crowd is attaching themselves to the heel character of Laurinaitis. I also thought it was smart to talk about his success in Japan, similar to Tensai. Finally we understand why they are aligned together.

What I Disliked:

Punk did a good job, but I wonder if Laurinaitis needs to focus completely on Cena. He already had his beef with Punk, and now needs to move on to Cena. He is in charge so all faces should have an issue, but that contradicts himself being fair. I like how they work on the microphone together, but I just wish that they realize that Laurinaitis does not need to feud with many faces, and Cena should be the main focal point. Also, Punk basically sucking up to Cena is not Punk's character. Plain and simple, and that is not why people began to invest in him.

The Big Show def Cody Rhodes via Countout

What I Liked:

The beginning of the match benefitted Big Show, including a powerful hip toss sending Rhodes high in the air. Rhodes hit a nice Beautiful Disaster, but finally escaped after getting beaten up some more. After the short match, Eve comes out and asks Show to apologize for making fun of Laurinaitis' voice. Eve calls him a 40 year old, 7 foot tall freak. Shockingly enough, I really liked this segment. It shows Eve's power, as well as potentially starting something that may move from Show to other faces. Good work from both here, it felt important and I can see a bigger picture.

What I Disliked:

I thought this match needed to go on a lot longer. Let Show and Rhodes have 6 minutes to hit a few good moves and progress their storyline. I wonder what the hell is going to happen with these two. They have been stuck in the same feud since February and both need to move on. I feel like the well has run dry with what these guys can do each week.
