WrestleZone’s Top 10: Misused Talent

Number 2: AJ Styles

AJ Styles

I love when people put Styles in the group of “young” talent in TNA. He has been there from the beginning and has gotten better and better each day. Styles is a wonderful in ring talent who is so creative in his way progress his storyline. Even with his great athletic ability and his personality to switch from heel to face, AJ deserves so much more than he is getting. The biggest problem with TNA is they continue to ride a carousel of main event talent. Instead of building from within, they gather scraps like RVD, Mr. Anderson, and Jeff Hardy. These guys will never be bigger here than they were in ECW or WWE. It is not TNA’s fault, they are just not as popular as the others were. AJ Styles is in his mid 30’s and has the body and skill set of a guy who is in the pinnacle of his career. Instead of carrying the company he has bleed and sweat for, he continues to be used in a mid card level. Yes, he competed against Roode a few months ago, but Styles deserves to stay there. Why would you give older guys who are there for the paycheck the opportunity to main event over Styles? It baffles me every day, but AJ Styles is a guy who has so much left in his tank that he could carry a company on his shoulders for 5 more years. The face of TNA for me is Styles, and he should be treated like that.
