Hulk Hogan – One Step Down
His announcements on Impact Wrestling Thursday night were fine. The TV Title will be defended every week and the "Open Fight Night" idea could work. But the bullsh*t tweets about "re-inventing the wheel" are annoying me.
I don't know Hogan personally, nor do I claim to. He might believe every word he says, or tweets, but I'm tired of the promises. Not just from Hogan, TNA does it way too often in general. Words are just words, and actions speak louder. Plain and simple.
Fans have been waiting for TNA to do something special for a long time. The funny part about it though is that they used to be a distinct alternative to WWE's product. If they would quit talking about re-inventing the wheel and simply turn that wheel back a few years, it would accomplish the same thing they keep promising.
TNA was much better at emphasizing their strengths and hiding their weaknesses back then. Jeff Jarrett might have put himself on top too much, and for too long, but he at least knew that he had all kinds of talent around him. He exploited that talent and the fans won in return.
I've actually been enjoying TNA's product more lately. It pleases me to see Roode on top. Storm is getting the credit he deserves. Styles is still featured regularly. Even Bully Ray has emerged as a compelling "superstar". It's honestly Hogan and Bischoffs' involvement that I normally care about the least.
Enough with the promises Hogan/TNA. All you do when you promise the world is set yourselves up for failure. There's no point in risking that when you have the talent and means to put on a great wrestling show without it.
